Food Snob Chronicles — Chicken Caesar Pasta Salad

Go into any American ‘traditional’ restaurant and you’ll see salads like this one listed under the dinner heading. Admittedly, there’s only one salad that I’ve ever ordered as a meal, and the following version is not it. My bride and baby girl, on the other hand, have enjoyed Chicken Caesar Pasta Salad (or something similar) at countless restaurant tables.

My version, albeit simple quick and easy, received the coveted thumbs-up from both of the ladies in my life even though I reduced the amount of pasta slightly from what usually is delivered to the table by a waiter. (Hey, they’re on a diet and I almost ruined it with last week’s Crispy Flautas w/ Crema Avocado.) Needless to say, this was the least I could do for them.

  1. I have been on a salad ordering kick lately too but I have to say I have never seen a salad like this on a menu. I would not have thought to throw in a bit of pasta to a Caesar salad. My mind is spinning as I think of a chopped Caesar with pasta now. Thanks!!

  2. Wow! This salad looks delicious – even this early in the morning. Of course I love that kind of salad and get it plenty at a favorite spot in town. You always make food look so darn delicious!

You’re too kind, Kelli. Thank you.
P.S. – This is my sole effort at halfway healthy this spring. 😉

  3. Looks good Adam although I don’t think I’ve ever had it with pasta before. I see no reason not to have it in there though because it can only make it better.

  4. Hey I just had Caesar salad for lunch today! Would have never thought to toss in some pasta, but I did add some albacore tuna and tomatoes instead. Yours is a lovely salad!

Thank you, Kathryn. Hope all is well and that you are happy with the Longhorns’ new hoops coach. 😉

  5. Adam, I love the addition of the pasta to this salad – genius! I actually saw this the other day, but didn’t have time to comment, so here I am. This is one of my favorite salads to order when I go out and a great meal all Summer long. Thanks for a great recipe. -Kim

Wish I’d come up with the idea, Kim. Like a mentor of mine once said (when I called him to let him know I’d stolen one of his ideas): nothing is original. Still, thank you! Enjoy! 🙂

  6. Pinned! Caesar salad is my absolute favorite. And when I have time, I love making real dressing from scratch. I have a recipe from Saveur that rocks.

  7. This sounds lovely. Going to give this a go. thanks for sharing this recipe.
