The RV Chronicles — There’s nothing fat about my Tuesdays (Recipe: Shrimp Rémoulade)

Fat Tuesday.  It’s the day of boundless sin before the annual period of ship-shape living.

Not here, though.

Oh sure, I’m a damn sinner. But I tend to spread mine out over the 52-week course of each year. Mardi Gras is cool because of the green, gold and purple — and the food. But I couldn’t care less about earning those beads. This Fat Tuesday at the Jimmy Rockford, we’ll probably be reviewing the required readings of John Steinbeck and making certain that our cars have the requisite bi-monthly gas treatment.

And appetizing with this wonderful New Orleans-style salad.

Anything with shrimp is a winner in my book! Happy Fat Tuesday!

  2. I so want to be in NOLA! (Or, have this remoulade!!!!)

Thanks, Debra. The remoulade is cheaper and easier. Provide you’re own Zydeco music and you’ll be good to go. 😉

  3. Hi Adam. I’m so behind on my blog reading that I feel I can’t catch up. Shrimp Remoulade. My first experience was making Chef Paul’s recipe and it was so good that I had a coniption fit. And that’s much worse than a hissy fit. It’s been too long since I’ve made it, and never blogged about it. A very special dish.

  4. Shrimp and greens. This totally defines healthy in my book. As for the remoulade-well that light mayo might work-but why bother-the shrimp and greens spell healthy! I love remoulade. I hate cruise ships. And in general I hate any place that I have to wait in line for food. And that includes restaurants that don’t take reservations!

‘Healthy’ is rarely a keyword used around these parts, but anything in moderation (except meth) is usually fine. 😉
